Dear Parents,

Welcome! I hope everyone had a wonderful summer and is ready for a great year.

I am excited about the new school year and am looking forward to working with your child and helping him achieve his full potential. I have been teaching the SDD program at Belwood for 10 ½ years and I am highly qualified to teach your child. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University, a Master’s of Arts in Teaching Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College, and an Educational Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership from Piedmont College. I also hold state certification in Interrelated Special Education. I have also attended numerous workshops and trainings related to the development and teaching of children with disabilities.

I am married and have a 15 year old son named Avry and a 8 1/2 year old son named Eli. I enjoy spending time with family, reading, traveling, and outdoor activities.

We will have one paraprofessional working with us this year. Sandy Ralston has an Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education and is highly qualified to work with your child. Sandy is married and has 10-year-old twin girls, Jazmine and Gabrielle.

I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. Throughout the year I will communicate with you through notes, emails, text messages, telephone calls, progress reports, and IEP meetings. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. You can call me at school (706-629-9547), send me a note, or e-mail me at rthomason@gcbe.org. I will make every effort to respond to you as quickly as possible.

I am looking forward to a wonderful year!! Thanks for all you do!

Thank you,

Rebecca Thomason
